FAQ
The role of a CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) nurse primarily involves working with young people to assess and treat various mental health difficulties. They do this by building therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, with an aim of finding ways to deal with emotions and triggers that can cause discomfort.
As an on-framework agency, we’re able to offer negotiable rates of pay for roles based on your level of experience and location within the UK. A Band 5 CAHMS Mental Health Nurse in London, for example, could earn up to £41,500 per year. The salary banding of a specific role you’re interested in will be displayed on its respective job description page.
As with almost all nursing roles, training to become a CAMHS nurse begins with a three-year training programme to qualify as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN). You’ll also need to pass any relevant occupational health and background checks for the role you’re interested in, and ideally accrue experience within various healthcare settings to build up your skillset.
