Meet Tanbeer, Associate Consultant for our Mental Health Nursing team. Tanbeer has proved to be an invaluable member of the nursing mental health division at Athona, placing mental health professionals in suitable roles across the South of England.

We recently caught up with Tanbeer to discuss how he’s found the past 5 years at Athona, why he chose a career in recruitment, future goals and aspirations and much more!

When did you join Athona and what has your career progression looked like since then?

I joined Athona in 2019 as an Administration Apprentice where I achieved a Distinction after completing my one-year course. Shortly after this, I moved into Business Development Administration before starting my sales journey in May 2022, where I was promoted to my current position as an Associate Consultant in November 2023.

Why did you choose a career in recruitment?

I’ve always been interested in pursuing a career path in sales, however due to religious reasons, I wasn’t able to join certain industries such as car dealerships or estate agents due to the interest involved in their sales. I then quickly decided recruitment would be the best route for me to be able to improve my sales skills.

Do you have any future goals or aspirations for your career?

Since starting my career in recruitment at Athona, I have made great progress so far and I feel I am getting closer to reaching my goals every day. I would love to keep developing within the sales field and continue working towards promotions at Athona.

What do you most enjoy about your role?

One of the many things I love about my role is having the opportunity to speak with a range of candidates every day and helping them find the right role in the best location for their working requirements. It’s important to me that all my candidates feel supported and prepared before heading out into a new role.

What type of roles are you currently recruiting for?

At the moment, I am currently recruiting for RMN roles across the entire South of England. Please get in touch today to find out about our latest roles and to discuss any working requirements you may have further.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve overcome since working in recruitment?

Navigating through a difficult and tough market at times can definitely bring it’s challenges, however we have always found a way to keep our heads above water and keep our candidates satisfied with the service we provide.

How do you build strong relationships with each of your candidates?

To build strong and long-lasting relationships with my candidates, I always aim to resolve issues in a fast manner when situations arise. To also help with this, I will put myself in the candidates shoes and understand how they feel, which will lead to me finding a resolution much quicker. I know if I was treated with the same level of respect and compassion that I show my candidates, I would trust my recruiter.
