Athona Recruitment have an excellent permanent job opportunity for a General Adult Consultant to work for a private outpatient service based in London.
Salary: £100,000 per annum
Position: General Adult Consultant
Hours: Part time 3 days per week
Setting: Outpatient and inpatient commitments (small outpatient, possibly 5-6 inpatient beds)
Location: London
For this role, you will be responsible for:
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds where necessary, risk reviews, service reviews and the development of a therapeutic milieu.
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician for patients, including those detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Supervising the process of referral and admission including contributing to pre-admission assessments of patients with other team members.
- Offering a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relation to the assessment, formulation and treatment of patients.
- Contributing to management meetings and clinical governance meetings for the services provided at the hospital and contributing to the development of service strategy.
- Contributing to in-house training programmes within the services and offering supervision to other members of the multi-disciplinary team, particularly junior medical staff.
- Maintaining CPD and re-validation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, GMC or other relevant statutory bodies.

For this role, we’re looking for someone who is:
- MBBS or Equivalent Medical Degree and MRCPsych
- Full GMC registration with license to practice
- Registered on the specialist register with CCT/CESR along with valid AC Status
- Knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice
- Committed to continued professional development
- Desirable to have had significant experience of inpatient and treatment disordered eating Able to work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team
