We are delighted to announce over the course of 2018 we raised an incredible £11,035.28 for Alzheimer’s Society.
Our employees have throughout the year taken to the skies and jumped 10,000 feet, completed multiple obstacle courses including an inflatable 5k and Nuclear Rush, three directors completed a longest golf day, a quiz night was held and lastly tons of tasty cupcakes were baked in conjunction with the Alzheimer’s Cupcake Day.
Athona employees also spent the year volunteering at Memory Walk events and dedicating their time to become recognised dementia friends.
Mussara Gray, Alzheimer’s Society Community Fundraiser in Essex, said: “Dementia devastates lives and too many are facing it alone without adequate support. Companies like Athona Recruitment will help us to challenge perceptions, fund research and improve and provide care and support.
“Athona Recruitment have raised an incredible amount and it is testament to their dedication and engagement with the Alzheimer’s Society throughout the charity of the year partnership.
“We want everyone affected by dementia to know that whoever you are, whatever you are going through, you can turn to Alzheimer’s Society for support, help and advice.”
For Alzheimer’s Society, the county of Essex is their biggest fundraiser across the UK and Athona is incredibly proud to have been part of that achievement.
In 2019 Athona is setting their sights even higher and setting themselves the challenge to raise another inspiring amount, but this round time for three charities of the year; Cancer Research UK, Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering and South Essex Wildlife Hospital.
