The healthcare landscape is evolving rapidly. With growing pressures from an ageing population, advances in medical technology, and shifting patient needs, the NHS must adapt. To address these challenges and ensure a sustainable future, the Department of Health and Social Care has launched the Change NHS Survey, which aims to develop a new 10-Year Health Plan.

This survey provides a platform for healthcare professionals, patients, and the general public to contribute their views and shape the direction of the NHS for the next decade. The portal opened on 21st October and will be open for feedback for several months. Anyone living in England over the age of 16 can take part.

As a healthcare professional, you will have the chance to share your views on:

  • The best things about your job
  • Challenges
  • Experiences
  • What should be prioritised

Not only are you able to give your views in the survey, once you access the portal there is a forum to share specific ideas and your thoughts on other suggested ideas. As the 10-Year Health Plan develops, ideas will be fed back and further opportunity will be given to “comment and challenge our thinking”.

By collecting feedback from a wide array of voices, the survey will help shape a plan that is both responsive to current challenges and adaptable to future needs. We can all play a vital role in shaping the future of the NHS and to ensure that the NHS not only survives but thrives for generations to come.

We will be staying up to date with the outcomes of the survey and 10-Year Health Plan, and encourage you to have your say.
